Being as teacher is similar to controlling a jet, especially when it comes to independent teaching, when there is no management team from an online school, covering you.

How to control pay dates, your schedule, curriculum and more? How to choose the correct services and tools when there are SO many of them? And, finally, how not to spend all your money on such services? Let’s find out together.

Controlling your schedule

There are several useful apps and services to put your schedule under control. Google calendar is one of the most popular ones, and there are some of its features that are not obvious for an average user, yet incredible and stress reducing.

  1. Two time zones in the sidebar

Now when every educator’s switched to online work, it is especially convenient to book time in your calendar keeping in mind several time zones where your students live. Here is how to set it:

  1. Fade events in the past

Nothing is more satisfying than the feeling of a completed job, or, in our case, the feeling when you actually see completed lessons on your calendar.

Open the settings and head to View options. Check the box next to Reduce the brightness of past events.

  1. Set your work location

If you follow a hybrid work format and teach offline some days a week, this will help you plan your time better.

With this, you can specify when you plan to be in the office and when you plan to be at home. You can change your location in the calendar, as shown above, or you can set up a standard weekly routine in your settings under Working hours and location.
